VOLVO PENTA D2-75
Volvo Penta D2-75 is an in-line 4-cylinder, 2.2-liter, charge air cooled diesel engine using a camdriven, in-line injection pump, and freshwater cooling. With low cruising rpm, the engine runs quietly with minimal vibrations.
COMFORT
Smooth running with low vibration levels is achieved through a dynamically-balanced design incorporating highly efficient rubber isolation. Lower engine speed together with an inlet air silencer reduce noise levels and contribute to increased onboard comfort.
MARINE TORQUE
This engine delivers high torque at low rpm. That means plenty of power and quick response when maneuvering in a marina, in strong head wind, and in confined spaces.
SOLID AND ROBUST ENGINE
With a rigid engine block and a one-piece cylinder head, this Volvo Penta marine diesel engine is designed and built to be immensely strong. This gives excellent reliability and long service life.
EFFICIENT CHARGING
High-capacity charging is standard. The 115A alternator has an electronic sensor which enables ahigher battery capacity. Even at idle speed, the alternator gives more than 35A, and at cruising speed it delivers approx. 100A.
FRESHWATER COOLING
The engine is fitted with freshwater cooling as standard. This reduces internal corrosion and enables the engine to maintain a consistent and optimal working temperature under all conditions.
LONG SERVICE LIFE
A propulsion system from Volvo Penta is easy to maintain. Our comprehensive range of high-quality oil, lubrication and coolant ensures uptime and top performance in the long term. Accessories include a fuel pre-filter to keep the engine in good condition.

WARRANTY
PROTECTS YOUR INVESTMENT
As an owner of a Volvo Penta leisure engine, you can enjoy our improved warranty for both engine and transmission. From June 2013, we extend our warranty commitment to 2+3 years or operation hours, whichever occurs first. For the first 2 years, the warranty covers the complete engine package and for the following 3 years, major components. Accessories bought simultaneously with engines will also benefit from an extended warranty period.
WARRANTY FACTS
During the first two years of usage, the new Volvo Penta International Limited Warranty offers repair or replacement of defective parts of the whole product. The warranty has an operation-hour limit depending on the engine and transmission used. The time limit, however, is generous, bearing in mind that the limited warranty is for leisure use only.
ADDITIONAL WARRANTY
The additional warranty of up to 3 years for major components takes effect when the initial warranty period has expired. This provides additional protection for you, the boat owner. An extra feature is that accessories that are regarded as part of the engine package will receive up to two years’ warranty protection.
THREE EXTRA YEARS OF FULL COVERAGE
In addition to our normal warranty, you can purchase our Extended Coverage program and increase the number of running hours with full coverage of the complete Volvo Penta package – from helm station, engines, drives, to the propellers. By this you will stay ahead of possible, future repair costs.
FULL COVERAGE
The Extended Coverage program gives you the same full coverage as the two first years of warranty. It covers repair and replacement of defective parts. This includes all Volvo Penta branded products, excluding consumables such as filters, hoses and belts. The Extended Coverage program is purchased when the propulsion package is ordered or within three months from the date of warranty registration.
GENERAL
The Extended Coverage program offers coverage valid year three to five. It's available world-wide for all Volvo Penta branded marine leisure products, both diesel and gasoline and is to be purchased when the propulsion package is ordered, or latest three months from the date of warranty registration
